The Forest’s Whisper is a poetic ceramic series by Indonesian-born Australian artist Nani Puspasari, created during her two-month residency at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. Inspired by the quiet mountain forest and the ancient Shigaraki clay, the works explore themes of memory, place, storytelling, and growth. Drawing on her lost childhood garden, Puspasari shapes dreamlike forms—some botanical, others symbolic—that evoke half-remembered stories and imagined guardians. Rather than tell a linear tale, the exhibition unfolds like whispers between trees, inviting viewers to slow down and take in every detail of the sculpture. It is a gentle offering to Shigaraki and a tribute to the quiet resilience of things that grow, seen and unseen.

森のささやき』は、インドネシア生まれオーストラリア在住のアーティスト、ナニ・プスパサリによる詩的なセラミック作品シリーズです。彼女は、滋賀県立陶芸の森での2ヶ月間のアーティスト・イン・レジデンス期間中に本作を制作しました。静かな森や古代から続く信楽の土にインスピレーションを受け、記憶や場所、物語、そして成長というテーマが作品に反映されています。失われた幼少期の庭の記憶をもとに、プスパサリは夢のような造形を創り出します。植物のようなもの、象徴的なものなどが、かすかな記憶や空想上の守護者を想起させます。本展は直線的な物語ではなく、木々のあいだから聞こえるささやきのように、鑑賞者に立ち止まり、ひとつひとつの作品の細部に目を向けるよう促します。それは、信楽へのやさしいオマージュであり、見えるものも見えないものも、静かに力強く育つ存在への敬意を込めた展示です。
